OVER COMING SHOULDS, COULDS, AND WHAT IFS
Learning to Love Yourself: Overcoming the 'Shoulds,' 'Coulds,' and 'What Ifs
One of the biggest obstacles to loving ourselves is the constant "shoulding" that we do. We tell ourselves that we should be further along in our careers, we should be thinner or more fit, we should have more money, we should be in a different relationship, and the list goes on. This kind of thinking only creates feelings of inadequacy and self-doubt, preventing us from truly loving and accepting ourselves as we are.
To overcome this tendency to "should" ourselves, we need to shift our focus to the present moment and learn to love ourselves as we are, right now. This means letting go of the "shoulds," "coulds," and "what ifs" and embracing the reality of our lives as they are.
As a photographer, I have heard countless excuses about why people don't want their pictures taken. Seeing how often these excuses boil down to not feeling good enough is heartbreaking. The "shoulds" show up again and convince us that we're not photogenic enough, not thin enough, not young enough, and the list goes on. But I want to take this opportunity to challenge those limiting beliefs and invite you to be photographed by me. I know you are amazing, unique, and beautiful just the way you are today, and I want to show you that. My goal as a photographer is to capture your unique beauty and help you see yourself in a new and positive light. So don't let the "shoulds" hold you back any longer. Instead, take a step towards self-love and let me capture your beauty through my lens.
